About me

Hi, my name is Carmen! I'm a Canadian from beautiful British Columbia on Canada's west coast who has been living in Germany with my family for over 6 years. Back in Canada I worked as a baker, but now I have the pleasure of working with people to improve their English. My biggest hobby at the moment is fitness in many forms, including cycling, strength training, yoga, pilates and cardio training. Other hobbies include reading and being creative with macrame and I still bake from time to time as well, of course! I also enjoy learning about history and discussing current events. I’m TEFL certified and I’ve had over 6 years of experience in customer service as well as a management position where I’ve had the pleasure of teaching employees new skills. During my lessons, I focus on practicing your conversational skills in a relaxed environment. As well as a focus on conversation, I like to read articles of interest with my students and we can also do grammar practice when it is necessary. With that said, my lessons will be tailored to your needs and we will learn together in a way that is fun and interesting to you! I’ve taken language classes online myself in German, and I understand how intimidating learning a new language can be and I’m here to put you at ease!
