About me

Are you looking for a certified and experienced tutor? I am Van from Vietnam. I have been teaching English for fifteen years in Vietnam and Hungary. I love teaching English and meeting people. I am not a native speaker but I major in English. The journey I passed to conquer English, I can share with you as well as guide you through a learning process to master English. I had many years of experience in teaching English for Vietnamese people in universities, companies and language centers. And I taught English for Hungarian learners in a vocational school for three years. I graduated from Hanoi University of Foreign Studies, majored in translation and interpreting in 2006. I also completed my master degree in College of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University in 2010. In 2015, I participated in VUS TESOL Conference in Ho Chi Minh and got a scholarship from National Geographic Learning. I chose to study the course "An introduction to teaching ESL / EFL". This course was very useful to my teaching job. The courses that I can offer you are as follows. First of all, I can teach you English grammar so that you will know well about the rules of the English language. You will remember the rules by doing exercises covering all grammar topics. Next, I do love teaching English for communication (speaking and listening). I will teach you English pronunciation (all the sounds in English and how to pronounce them correctly, stress and intonation). Then we can learn speaking and listening in topics. I will provide you vocabulary for each topic, we practice pronunciation, speaking as well as listening. You can choose and suggest the topics you want to learn. Furthermore, I can teach you English presenting skill which will help you speak confidently in front of many people. We will learn about pronunciation (if needed), body language, organizing ideas, fluency tips, dealing with questions, etc. And, if you want to learn English for exams like TOEIC, TOEFLibt or others. We should first look at the structure of the exam. Then we will pratice many tests to prepare for the exam. During the learning process, if you need any help with grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation, I will help you improve. Besides, if you just want to learn only several lessons for an interview in English, I also can help you to practice answering interview questions and give you tips for a successful interview. Moreover, if you wish to learn specialized English to work more effectively in your field. I can help you with English for Logistics, IT, Car mechanics, Construction and some others. With my five years of experience working for two companies in Vietnam, I have some knowledge of company system as well as English for business. Finally, I am competent to teach you translation from English into Vietnamese and vice versa. You will practise translation with provided texts, articles, etc. I had five years of experience in doing translation in a Vietnamese company and a Korean company. I have little experience in working as an interpreter, but I love it and to some extent, I can help you. I use different methods to teach you depending on what you learn and your English level. I focus on your needs to design and select sources for you. Communicative language teaching methods and task-based method are often used by me. If you are a Vietnamese learner, I can use translation method as well. The key thing is you need to be active and work hard during lessons. Exercises and activities will help to activate your language ability and develop your language skills. Learning a language is a process of overcoming yourself.
