About me

Hello my name is Purdy and I am from England. I love to be a part of the learning journey with my students, and nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing you progress and reach your language goals - its pure joy! No joke I literally cried in a recent lesson when I heard so much improvement from my student!! Happy tears of course! Learning a language opens so many doors to new people, cultures and opportunities and I am so lucky to be able to assist with this quest. I am here to help you with your language goals whatever they may be, because together and with lots of support and affirmation you can achieve whatever you believe! I am here to help you! I understand how challenging it can be because for the last 2 years I have been learning Spanish language and living in Panamá, so I am here to empathise and understand you every step of the way <3 And a little bit about me: I love to travel, I love nature, hiking and swimming, and I am learning to surf! I love to read and to discover new cultures in the kitchen through cooking and eating different food from around the world. I have over 9 years of teaching experience in different settings from migrant conversation clubs in England to formal English institutes in Ecuador. I also have a 120 Hour TEFL Certificate. My experience includes teaching English to children, teenagers and adults of all levels from beginner to advanced so we can adapt your sessions to your level and your learning style too. Depending on the student I have worked with more formal class schedules where we cover set topics, but I also like to work with students more informally building conversation skills (which I think is hugely important and the key to language learning) where we create conversation around topics of interest of the student such as music and sport, films and food, and daily life situations. I am also experienced in IELTS exam preparation. The aim is to get you feeling fluent, fluid and confident to talk! I am here to help you progress with fun, joy-filled and supportive classes in a style that suits you. We are going to chat until you feel confident! Together, we can achieve your language goals! With over 9 years of teaching experience and a passion for learning, I am here to support and guide you every step of the way.
